Matt and Heather love people. From volunteering in youth ministry, leading a children’s ministry, teaching small groups, or preaching sermons, Matt and Heather love seeing God’s powerful impact on people’s lives.
While on staff as the Executive Pastor at Generations Church, in Guthrie, God began speaking to Matt about planting a church. The message became louder in March 2024 as God gave them a vision for Grace Family Church. After the call to plant a church was affirmed in April of 2024, Matt and Heather began the faith-filled steps to launch a church that will become an epicenter of hope and encouragement to the people.
Matt and Heather married in 2001 while living in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2003, they packed their young family and headed to the small town of Guthrie, OK. It did not take long for them to fall in love with rural America. After spending a significant amount of time in Stillwater, they began to feel God calling them to plant a church in this amazing town that has the feel of rural but a population of 49,000, providing an opportunity to reach the lost.
Family is everything to Matt and Heather. They are the proud parents of six amazing children and are blessed with a daughter-in-law. One of Matt and Heather’s greatest joys is watching their children grow and develop a faith of their own.
Matt and Heather’s love for marriages and families led them to launch A Joyful Family Ministries in 2021. The mission of A Joyful Family is to offer hope and encouragement to couples so they can have the marriage and family God desires for them.
